New in our salon PERFUME – ISABEY

The perfume house Isabey was founded in Paris during the Roaring 20s, when French perfumery was experiencing another boom. Baron Henry James de Rothschild contributed to its foundation, establishing the company Société Parisienne d’Essences Rares & de Parfums in 1924.

The brand name, Isabey is a reference to the French origin of the brand and the world of art, the Rothschild family owned several works by Eugène Isabey, a 19th-century watercolourist.

The entire Isabey perfume project was created for the famous Paris Exhibition of Decorative Arts – perfumer Robert Bienaimé created several fragrances at once, the design of the bottles and packaging was entrusted to the famous designer Julien Viard and the Sorys house.

The exhibition presented fragrances grouped into two collections, exotic (La Route d’Emeraude, Bleu de Chine, Le Chypre Celtic, L’Ambre de Carthage, Sir Gallahad) and floral (Le Mimosa, Lilac, Jasmine d’Isabey, Gardenia, Lys Noir). The presentation of a set of six Isabey fragrances in the form of a pearl necklace Le Collier d’Isabey, created by André Jolivet, received the Gold Medal of the exhibition.

Immediately after the exhibition, boutiques of Isabey appeared in the UK and the US.

Isabey perfume bottles were made at Baccarat, Bobin Frères Glassworks and René Lalique factories.

After World War II, the Isabey brand, acquired in 1941 by Marcel Guerlain, fell into decline. It was only at the end of the 20th century that it was acquired by the French company PANOUGE and brought back to life with the help of Jean Jacques, a perfumer for the Japanese corporation Takasago.

The diamond-shaped bottles in the Art Deco style were first designed by the Czech glassmaker Ludwig Moser in 1925.

Like the brand’s perfume style, the new owners have left the historical names for many fragrances.

The entire range is presented in our salon-boutique, our specialists will consult you on all questions at +7 (925) 086-64-77.
